Barack Obama was elected as our new President, in part, due to his platform of change. It is time for change in this country. And law firms can change too! Stacey is concerned about climate change, and believes that law offices can be structured in a way that lessens the impact on the environment. Accordingly, she maintains a home office, in part to avoid harmful auto emissions resulting from an unnecessary commute. The mail center and conference room used by our office are located within two miles of Stacey's home. Further, Lisa Vargo (Attorney), Andrea Logan (Paralegal) and Kristen Larsen (Office Administrator) also maintain home offices. Client files are digitally maintained to the greatest extent possible in order to minimize the amount of paper used by the office, and everyone works with the digital files via a secure server. In addition, according to a recent American Bar Association survey, the average law firm partner bills out at a rate of $451 per hour. In part, this high billable rate is caused by the exorbitant overhead costs of these law firms. Ever been in a downtown firm? If not, visit any of the numerous law firms lodged in Class A office space in Seattle and Bellevue. In all likelihood, you'll see a beautiful view of the Puget Sound, expensive art on the walls, sleek furnishings, and a well heeled receptionist who offers you coffee and tea. And, who pays for all of that? You do - at $451 per hour. Stacey believes that law can be practiced a different way, so that essential legal services are affordable and accessible to more people. "Our set up works. It lowers our overhead, and allows us to provide our clients with exceptional customer service and excellent legal services, performed by highly experienced and skilled practitioners, at nearly half the cost of a large law firm." - Stacey Romberg
Andrea earned her
Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1989,
and her Paralegal Certificate from Edmonds Community College in 1996.
She offers 12 years of experience in small business law, estate
planning and probate. In her spare time, Andrea serves as a
founder of Pawsattive Alliance, a non-profit organization committed to
spaying and neutering animals, and animal adoption. |
